Alihan Bakir

Doctoral Assistant

Alihan Bakir is a PhD candidate in Robotics, Control, and Intelligent Systems at EPFL, where he is developing full-body interaction with surface-based robots under the supervision of Dr. Jamie Paik.

His research focuses on creating immersive experiences by merging virtual world cues with real-time, full-body dynamic feedback, utilizing modular robotic surfaces inspired by high-load origami designs.

With a strong background in mechatronic system design, controller development, and signal processing, Alihan has worked on various robotics projects, including aerial robot teams and modular miniature robots. His current work aims to advance communication between humans, machines, and virtual environments, providing scalable and organic interaction frameworks.
